Barcelona president responds to Lewandowski links, Dembele’s future

Barcelona president Joan Laporta admits signing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is ‘not easy’, while pointing to the club’s financial challenges.

Lewandowski has been tipped to leave Bayern this summer with Barcelona termed as a possible destination for the lethal man. When asked about an approach for Lewandowski, Larpota appeared to distance the club from signing the Polish.

“Lewandowski deal? It’s not easy, remember our financial situation wasn’t so easy. Let Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany work,” he told the Tot costa show on Catalunya Radio.

As reported by 90min, Lewandowski has been offered to Premier League clubs including the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham by his agent Pini Zahavi.

On Ousmane Dembele’s future, Laporta explained that the Catalans have offered the winger a new deal but he is ‘tempted’ by other options.

“We made our new deal proposal and we’re waiting for his answer, next week,” he explained.

Dembele was heavily linked with an exit in the winter but ended up staying at Nou Camp where he has provided 11 assists in his last 13 La Liga appearances to help Barcelona secure a Champions League spot.
