Barcelona president Joan Laporta cannot rule out paying a “shocking commission” to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
At this morning’s media conference regarding the club’s financial situation, Laporta was asked about €60m commission claims for Haaland’s father Alf-Inge and his agent Mino Raiola should he move to Barca.
The president declared: “I will not make payments without cause or pay money for a concept that is false. I will try not to make disproportionate payments. Exaggerated commissions are being discussed. What I will not do is disguise it and what I will not do is pay 17 and then 40 to the father.
“If we pay a shocking commission I will explain it.”
Laporta also expanded on the revelations of the previous board paying journalists for favourable reports.
He stated: “Some have been made with cause and others that have a doubtful tone. If the Prosecutor’s Office requests it, we will explain it. The five points that have been determined as doubtful are more important. If someone has received a payment with false cause is not the most important thing.”
