Barcelona president Joan Laporta has congratulated the front office for their signing of Ferran Torres from Manchester City.
Torres was presented to local fans and media this morning at the Nou Camp.
Laporta said, “Today is a great day. Ferran Torres really wanted to come and I want to thank him. And I want to thank everyone at the club who worked for him to come, especially Mateu Alemany, Rafa Yuste, Jordi Cruyff and his agents. He was persistent in coming to Barça. I am sure we will benefit from it.
“It is a very special day. We present a great player. When Mateu told us that there was a possibility, we were happy. You know, we have a good relationship with City and that was a very clear goal. I really like his desire to come to Barça. We want players like that.
“He’s young, he’s a benchmark and I’m sure he will be very successful. We are in the process of building a team with very young players. A new stage begins at Barça and I want it to arrive as soon as possible. Ferran, you are a great player and a better person.”
