Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres insists he’s not obsessing about his lack of goals.
The Barcelona forward couldn’t hold back his tears after the first leg of their Europa League tie against Napoli after he missed a handful of clear chances to give his team the win.
“You are focusing everything on goals, but [goals] are not everything,” Torres said during a commercial event.
“I am contributing to the team. It is true that I am an attacking player, but there are other factors such as helping defensively, giving assists, combining [with teammates]… which are also important.
“I’m calm. I’m on the right track. Goals are streaks, sometimes they go in, others they don’t.
“You have to be consistent, be calm mentally. When one goes in, they all go in and you have to be positive.
“[My reaction after the Napoli game] came out spontaneously. It was a bit of frustration because I like to score and help the team and I wasn’t successful.”
