An Australian fan has gone viral after seeing himself on the big screen during their World Cup clash against France.
Australia were beaten 4-1 by France in their Group D opener at the Al Janoub Stadium on Tuesday night.
However, there was plenty to cheer early on for the thousands of Australia fans in Qatar.

To everyone’s surprise, they took the lead after just nine minutes through Craig Goodwin.
After Saudi Arabia had beaten Argentina earlier in the day, were we about to witness another huge shock in this World Cup?
Not quite.
The Socceroos couldn’t hold onto their lead for 20 minutes as Adrien Rabiot equalised with a header. Olivier Giroud put France ahead just five minutes later.
France’s quality told in the second half with Kylian Mbappe and Giroud completing a comfortable victory for Didier Deschamps’ side.
But for Australia, they know they likely need results against Tunisia and Denmark if they’re to qualify for the knockout stages.
It’s an extremely tough ask.
In the previous three World Cups, Australia have crashed out in the group stages with just one win in their nine matches.
Despite that poor form, there were plenty of Aussies in Qatar cheering on their nation.
However, it seems one fan in particular maybe shouldn’t have been there.
That’s because one Australian fan has gone viral for his reaction to seeing himself on the big screen.

A clip is doing the rounds on social media that appears to show one supporter looking up at himself and muttering: “Jesus we’re on f***ing tele.”

Usually, fans get pretty excited at seeing themselves projected on the jumbotron. But not this fan. Why? Well, well many fans believe it’s because he pulled a sickie from work in order to travel to Qatar.
Check out the reaction:
Of course, that may not have been the case and the man in question might just be a chilled out kinda guy. But it certainly looked as though he’d rather not be shown in ‘f***ing tele’.
Either way, there’s no doubt just how Australian the fan really is. Not only is he dressed in all yellow but you can literally hear the Aussie accent through lip-reading.
Let’s just hope he’s not going to get in trouble with his bosses.
