In the midst of the continuous rumours around Fiorentina center-forward Dusan Vlahovic, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has declined to rule out a move for him.
This season, the Serbian striker has been in excellent form for his Italian club, scoring 18 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions.
Despite interest from Juventus, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal is thought to be first in line for the 21-year-old.
When asked about a probable transfer for Vlahovic, Arteta said his club may recruit the striker during the Winter transfer window.
“I think with the amount of things and the way that we want to evolve the squad, we have to maximize every window in many different ways and we are alert,” Arteta told reporters.
“[Technical director] Edu and his team are working very hard because we know exactly what we need to do, and whether we can accomplish that in January or in the summer, is a different question as it is related to other stuff.
“Again, if it is the right player and we can afford it and we can do what we want to do we will discuss it and make the best possible decision. We are open.”
Vlahovic’s current contract with Fiorentina expires in June 2023, and the club is reportedly keen to offload him during the January transfer window.
