Arsenal will look to find a new buyer for Lucas Torreira this summer, with Fiorentina looking unlikely to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal.
Today’s print edition of Il Messaggero (via TuttoMercatoWeb) reports that Lazio could make a swoop for Luca Torreira this summer.
Despite having managed to keep hold of Sergej Milinković-Savić and Luis Albero so far, head coach Maurizio Sarri is reportedly dissatisfied with the Biancocelesti’s summer transfer business and is seemingly demanding more reinforcements.
It is suggested that the Italian boss is unwilling to rub out the eventual likelihood of Milinković-Savić and Luis Albero parting ways with the Rome-based club this summer.
Torreira, who had a stellar loan spell at Fiorentina last season, is thus considered a suitable option for Sarri’s midfield. According to the claims, Ivan Ilić follows Torreira on Lazio’s transfer shortlist.
With Fiorentina reluctant to meet the Gunners’ valuation for the Uruguayan, a permanent move to Florence seems distant for the 26-year-old at the moment.
Amid all the anticipations, Marcos Antonio will land in Rome on Monday. Signed for a reported fee of around €10 million (including bonuses), Antonio is understood to be the latest coup for the Biancocelesti.
