Ange Postecoglou responds to Uli Hoeneß Harry Kane comments

Speaking to the media, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has responded to Uli Hoeneß’s claims that Harry Kane will be a Bayern Munich if the player keeps his word.

Over the weekend, the Bayern executive commented on the Harry Kane situation at the club’s training camp in Tegernsee.

When asked about a move for Harry Kane, Hoeneß said: “Harry has so far signalled very clearly in all conversations that his decision has been made. And if he keeps his word, we’ll get him – Because then Tottenham will have to give in because it’s not possible such a club can do without 80, 90 million, or how much it may be. He wants to play in Europe and Tottenham, luckily for us, won’t be there next year, unlike our club.”

Naturally, Postecoglou has been questioned during his latest press conference as he prepares for his first season as Spur’s head coach.

It appears that the former Celtic man isn’t bothered by the comments and is simply concentrating on his job with Tottenham: “I had a good chat with Harry Kane. Bayern Statements? He’s not going to get fazed by anything and it has zero impact on me. He’s here and while he’s here, Harry is totally committed to what we’re doing.”

When asked whether he believes Kane wants to be aprt of his vision at Spurs, Postecoglou responded: It’s not a specific vision for one person, it’s about the group. Me and Harry were perfectly aligned in that, we want to see a successful team this year.”

The 57-year-old concluded by saying: “The reality is that we have a bit less than one month before the season starts, the transfer window is still open for a while, so we’ll see how it transpires.”

Sky Germany have reported that Bayern believe that they can get the deal done within the next 2-3 weeks, which means Kane will not be a part of their tour of Asia this summer. If Bayern fail to sign Kane this summer then their plan B is to sign the striker on a free transfer next summer if he does not extend his contract at Tottenham, as his current deal expires in 2024.
