Ancelotti told to resit exams by UEFA due to expired coaching badges

Carlo Ancelotti has been advised that he must retake his coaching examinations following the expiration of his UEFA credentials.

According to Italian media sources, the 62-year-old, who has a trophy-laden career, received a letter from the European football regulatory body reminding him that he must pass a test to renew his accreditation.

According to reports, the Spanish Football Federation contacted UEFA to ensure that Ancelotti completed the exam in order to avoid any future complications.

The former Chelsea and AC Milan manager has managed over 1,200 games and earned several awards throughout his career, winning 21 titles.

Ancelotti returned to Real Madrid at the beginning of the season following a year and a half at Everton. His return to the Bernabeu has culminated in Los Blancos’ great form, with the club now leading LaLiga by four points and are heavy favorites to regain the championship.

Madrid has also rebounded from a dismal start to their UEFA Champions League campaign, which featured a stunning home defeat to Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol, and will meet French heavyweights PSG in the last 16.

The Italians already have one title in their cupboard – they won the Supercopa de España last month by defeating Athletic Club Bilbao – and may possibly win the Copa del Rey if they defeat the same opponents in Thursday’s quarter-finals.
