Dutch giants Ajax are confident of keeping Manchester United target Jurrien Timber for another season.
The defender has strongly been linked with a move to Old Trafford as new boss Erik Ten Hag wants to raid his former side as he works on rebuilding the English giants who have performed dismally defensively in the just concluded season.
According to Mike Verweij (via De Telegraaf), the Eredivisie champions are keen on holding on to their youngster as they believe the player would prefer staying at Ajax as he would be a guaranteed starter unlike at Man United.

The 20-year-old seemed adamant in a recent interview about getting regular minutes in the first team, so that could be an important factor that decides his future but playing for a club like United with a hefty pay might be too good to turn down.
The player however wants to be part of the World Cup and wants assurance about his position in the United team if he is to move this summer. Timber is one of the most sought after due to his versatility that allows him to operate at center back or at right-back.
