Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has stated that he is only thinking about his future with Inter despite links with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Martinez, who won the World Cup with Argentina last season, had also won the Coppa Italia with Inter and had reached the final of the Champions League. He finished 20th in the Ballon D’or rankings, having also started the new season superbly for the Nerazzurri, who find themselves at the top of the Serie A table.
The striker has always been linked with a host of clubs across Europe and during the Ballon D’or ceremony (via TMW), he was asked about links with Real Madrid and whether he was close to joining Los Blancos in the summer transfer window.
The Argentine said: “Obviously we are talking about a very important team, but my thoughts and my mind are always turned towards Inter. I am very happy there, I have a contract and my family is very happy in Milan. This evening is special for me, I thank Inter and the Argentine national team.”
He also stated that he wants to win titles with Inter in 2024, saying: “What do I hope for 2024? To be able to continue competing, bring Inter as high as possible and represent Argentina in the best way. And win titles, because this is sport.”
The 26-year-old has 11 goals in ten Serie A games this season, assisting twice. He also has one Champions League goal so far in the competition.
