Having seen their initial bid rejected at the end of last month, Paris Saint-Germain are still hoping to bring in Lyon forward Bradley Barcola before the end of the transfer window, according to a report this evening from RMC Sport‘s Fabrice Hawkins.
The 20-year-old attracted interest from around the continent in the wake of his impressive half-season partnering Alexandre Lacazette up front for Les Gones, scoring five and registering nine assists in the league.
The Ligue 1 champions are in the midst of an attacking overhaul, with Lionel Messi and Neymar gone and Kylian Mbappé’s future uncertain. The first game of the campaign last weekend saw Luis Enrique put out a front three consisting of Kang-in Lee, Marco Asensio, and Gonçalo Ramos.
PSG are still hopeful of bringing in both Barcola as well as Randal Kolo Muani. Lyon are reticent about selling their young prospect, not least given the transfer restrictions imposed on them by the DNCG – French football’s financial watchdog – will make it difficult to replace the French youth international.
A bigger offer, potentially with a player exchange involved in the deal, could convince them. Senegal defender Abdou Diallo was seen as a potential makeweight in the deal, until his recent move to Qatar and Lyon’s signing of Jake O’Brien from Crystal Palace.
