Early signs of disagreement between Luis Enrique and Luís Campos at PSG

Although an official announcement is yet to come, Luis Enrique’s appointment as Paris Saint-Germain’s new manager is now all but a formality – with the ongoing talks over the termination of Christophe Galtier’s deal ostensibly still an obstacle.

The former Barcelona manager will take charge of the Ligue 1 champions from this summer. However, there are still doubts regarding the make-up of his backroom staff.

According to L’Équipe tonight, there are signs of disagreements between Luis Enrique and PSG’s Sporting Advisor Luís Campos on the issue. The manager is expected to arrive with three or four assistant managers – a team which could include Aitor Unzué, the Spanish national team’s former chief analyst, as well as the former physio Rafel Pol.

However, Campos has already managed to secure the future of the medical team he brought with him last summer – Pedro Gómez and Alberto Piernas – in spite of Galtier’s imminent departure. Video analyst Isidro Ramon will also stay on, as agreed on with the incoming head coach.

The Portuguese director is also said to be insistent on keeping João Sacramento as assistant manager – the 34-year-old had occupied the role at Christophe Galtier’s side both at Lille and PSG. Luis Enrique, though, is hesitant on havin Sacramento in his staff.

Other sections of the club’s backroom staff remain shrouded in uncertainty, notably with the need to find a new goalkeeping coach. Disagreements between Campos and the club’s medical staff over the past season could also lead to change in that sector.
