Maurizio Sarri’s future at Lazio is anything but certain with the coach potentially leaving the Biancocelesti at the end of the season, Il Messaggero report.
Lazio currently sit in second place with five points over the fifth place: they can seal a Champions League for the first time since 2020 but the next few games will be pivotal as they’re set to play away against Inter and Milan.
Without Champions League football, Sarri might be tempted to leave Lazio and not even finishing inside the top four could end up assuring his exit. Sarri’s first option is to stay at Lazio but he would like new signings to reinforce team – four or five players that can be suitable for his footballing ideas.
Many teams, inside and outside Serie A, are aware of this situation and they’re keeping tabs on the Italian if he does end up departing the Olimpico.
Milan are reported to be one of them, while Inter are the most interested in Italy in the event that Simone Inzaghi gets fired at the end of the season. Premier League sides are also keeping an eye on Sarri with Tottenham, Newcastle and Everton reported to be ready to make a move if an opportunity comes along.
