Juventus’ Coppa Italia victory over Monza marked the club’s first game under the new board.
New president Gianluca Ferrero and director Maurizio Scanavino took in the 2-1 win.
Sporting director Federico Cherubini commented: “I feel observed the way all professionals do in this business, we all live and die by our results and achieving objectives. The change of management today means we will try to do things even better.
“I am acting as a union between old and new because I have worked here for 11 years under President Agnelli and want to again thank the President for that opportunity and what he represented for the club too.”
On the board’s market plans, Cherubini added: “I think this squad will improve if we recover the players we had technically since July, but have barely been able to use. It was described as a ‘virtual’ squad, but these are real players and we hope to have them back soon.
“On top of that, we will also see the growth progress of young players who were just potential at first, but now are starting to really show what they can do.
“There are five youth team players in the side today and that is something we can be proud of. These young players must also have the strength to show they are able to repay us for that faith.
“We have a plan that had already begun this season, so every Juventus squad of the future must have players from our NextGen and youth academies. We are already starting to reap the rewards and it is our duty to continue along that path.
“At the same time, we are Juventus and must also use players with great value, experience and quality, so the right thing as always is to have a mix.”
