Former Juventus director general Luciano Moggi spoke at the club’s shareholders’ meeting yesterday.
Moggi says he wanted to speak in order to highlight the work of Andrea Agnelli, who resigned as president amid their financial management of the club being investigated by Turin authorities.
Moggi said: “Many people wonder why I asked to come and speak. I would like to say a few things, I came for three reasons. I have come to understand the state of our budget, because I do not take much account of what I read.
“Then to thank Agnelli, nine championships are not won easily. They are those things that you can hardly understand, but those who are inside know how difficult it is. In a club that has never defended itself or has not been able to defend itself, for this reason it has become a toy in the hands of many, especially the media.
“It is an epithet given to Juventus ‘He wins because he steals’, but it is not true because heit has always won on the field and has never stolen anything from anyone. Maybe they stole something from us, like in the flood of Perugia.
“They stole it the following year, when Roma won the championship and the president of CONI changed the rules in the race by making Nakata play in Turin who decided the game by scoring a goal. I tell you then for passports since I hear a few words: we sing brothers of Italy, then the team manager of the national team is the one who falsified Recoba’s passport. This is Italy.
“I know how Agnelli worked, it’s a difficult thing to explain. I am someone who is used to living and not existing, I still fight for Calciopoli. We have been held guilty of things that others have done. Andrea here I have a box with a key, here is all Calciopoli. Here you will hear Carraro say that Fiorentina and Lazio cannot be relegated, which he says do not help Juventus before the game against Milan.”
