Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview has left a number of senior officials at Manchester United extremely upset.
The Red Devils are dealing with the fall out from Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan, which is airing in snippets throughout the week.
The centre-forward accused United of not having ambition, of being a marketing club, and of attempting to force him out.
A United statement on the matter read: “Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo. The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.
“Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.”
Per ESPN, United are bemused at United claiming he is being forced out of the club.
The forward’s agent Jorge Mendes made it clear Ronaldo wanted to depart last summer, as United had failed to qualify for this season’s Champions League.
