On the back of six defeats in Serie A, Hellas Verona now lock horns with Jose Mourinho’s Roma on Monday evening at Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.
Despite the change in management, there is no improvement in Gialloblu’s results. Since the departure of head coach Gabriele Cioffi following a series of poor results, the situation has gone worse, with the Bentegodi currently experiencing the worst run of results in Serie A this season, losing six games on the trot. As a result, Verona currently find themselves in the 19th position with the same number of points as bottom-placed Cremonese.
Roma, on the other hand, have continued to struggle with their lacklustre return in the offensive department. The misfiring ambience of their forwards, plagued by the loss of injured Paulo Dybala, means Mourinho will be concerned going into the game against one of the worst sides in the Italian top flight this term.
Results in the last five matches in all competitions:
Verona: L-L-L-L-L
Roma: W-D-W-L-W
Team News:
Verona will be missing some key players for their game against the Giallorossi. Ivan Ilić and Darko Lazović have muscular problems, while Josh Doig, Ajdin Hrustic, and Diego Coppola are also expected to miss the fixture due to their respective injuries. Federico Ceccherini, Thomas Henry, and Isak Hien are only one yellow card away from getting a one-match suspension in Serie A.
Roma have not recovered any of their long-term absentees. According to the reports from Italy, Leonardo Spinazzola has become the latest name to pick up a fresh knock. Zeki Celik, Georginio Wijnaldum, Dybala, and Nemanja Matić remain sidelined for the time being.
