Kevin Trapp has turned down a move to Manchester United

Kevin Trapp has chosen to stay loyal to Eintracht Frankfurt despite being offered a four-year deal with Premier League side Manchester United, according to Bild

The 32-year-old goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to the red side of Manchester with a contract waiting to be signed by the German.

Trapp was seriously considering a move to Erik Ten Hag’s side but finally has come to the decision to stay in the Bundesliga with his beloved Frankfurt.

The goalkeeper told Bild reporters: “In the past few days, much has been reported about Manchester United’s interest. It is correct that there is a written offer. Manchester United is a world club. I hope everyone can understand that I am dealing with such an offer and thinking about it.”

He went on to announce: “Yesterday I informed the responsible persons of both clubs that I had decided for Eintracht. I experienced sensational things here with Eintracht and we made history together. The start of the season was bumpy, but I have absolute confidence in us.”

The news will come as a relief to all of those invested in Frankfurt. Losing such a key player late on in the transfer window could have been disastrous for this season’s aspirations.
