Real Madrid have held a farewell ceremony for Casemiro at the Santiago Bernabeu this morning.
Casemiro was sold to Manchester United last Friday for €70m.
In his speech, Casemiro paid tribute to his teammates and insisted he sees himself returning to the club.
Acknowledgments: “I succeeded with the help of my mother, my brothers, my wife. Eternally grateful to you, president, eternally grateful to Ramón Martínez who hired me in São Paulo.”
Special colleagues: “For my teammates, without them it would be impossible. But I have to talk about Modric and Kroos. I really enjoyed football with them.”
Words for the club: “I had every illusion of being able to play here, when I left São Paulo. It was clear to me that I wanted to play in the first team, but before that I had to go to Castilla. I learned values in that young team that are the most beautiful thing about this club. The future is in this formation.”
Promise of return: “Thanks to the club that formed me as a person and as a player. And a word to the fans, for the magical nights. The story I’ve been living is incredible. This club has the best, that’s why it’s always the best, will continue to win. It is the identity of this club and this city. I want to make it clear that one day I will return and return the affection they gave me.”
