Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer is dead against allowing Cristiano Ronaldo to leave this month.
The 37-year-old’s future at Old Trafford has been up in the air ever since he declared his intention to quit the club earlier in the summer following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.
The Manchester Evening News says Glazer resisted all efforts to sell Ronaldo so far this summer.
United have also denied a weekend report they could terminate Ronaldo’s contract and sources insist the club’s position that the forward is not for sale has not changed.
Glazer sanctions every transfer at United and he has intervened in the past.
