Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson believes that Nottingham Forest teammate Jesse Lingard is ‘buzzing’ to be at the club.
Henderson is on loan with Forest for the entire 2022/2023 season, where he will play alongside Lingard, who signed for Forest on a free transfer from United.
The English duo will be hoping they can help the newly promoted club to avoid going straight back down to the Championship.
Henderson told talkSPORT: “He is buzzing, he really believes in this project like me. I was messaging him every day telling him to come and join me.
“He was so excited when he joined, and people won’t believe it but he had a conversation with the manager and he just really believes in the project. He had the same conversation that I had.
“It is a win-win for every party and I think it is genius business by the club. He will bring quality to the squad and I can’t wait for him to get back flying. He will feel the love here. The boys will back him and the manager will back him. The fans will get behind him and he will be excited to get going again.
“A manager putting his arm around you and looking out for you is important and they are the ones who get the best out of players. Jess had a tough time last season with people standing in his way and not letting him play football. He had twelve months out like me and it is difficult for him to accept. He wanted to go out this season and just play football. He has that reward now and I can’t wait to see him in action.
“He will have been bothered about the controversy around his arrival, a little bit. He built up a great rapport with the West Ham fans so I’m not sure it was great them battering him. West Ham were in it, but I’m not so sure they really, really wanted him. You have to take it with a pinch of salt, I came off all social media.
“That has been great for me, I don’t worry about anything, I love life. I don’t read any of the rubbish. I know Jesse is active on social media, perhaps that is detrimental for him.
“I don’t think he cares really, he is a big personality with bags of ability, and he will put the performances in for Forest.”
