Arsenal defender Auston Trusty is delighted signing for Birmingham City.
The former Colorado Rapids defender has joined the Blues on a season-long loan.
“I am a centre-back. I am willing to run, to get stuck into challenges and willing to sacrifice for my teammates. That is the kind of player you are getting from me and are getting for the team. I am excited to be part of the team,” he told BluesTV.
“I know it is going to be a challenge, I know the intensity is going to be tough. I am just really looking forward to it.
“It is a new chapter and a new opportunity.”
Having signed for Arsenal in January, the 24-year-old was immediately loaned back to Colorado, meaning his time at Blues will be his first experience playing in English football.
Therefore, Trusty is eager to sample the game on these shores and develop at this level.
“The intensity that the guys are going to bring from watching the games in the Championship and Premier League, you want to be in that environment, you want to be around those players that want to play and want to get stuck in. Overall, it is going to be good.”
