Argentine Mauricio Pochettino wants to return to the Premier League after parting ways with Paris Sant Germain.
The manager’s future in France has been in doubt since being eliminated in the last 16 by Real Madrid in the Champions League and the Telegraph reports that he was told he would be sacked during a meeting last week.
Pochettino was strongly linked with a summer move to Man United when they were still under Ralf Rangnick but his star dimmed after that Champions League loss with the Old Trafford job going to Erik Ten Haag who has already started work.
There was a feeling that he isn’t a top manager after failing to conjure any serious thing in Paris despite the money that he had at his disposal last season; a move that has seen clubs shun him.
While he wants a return to the Premier League where he had coached Tottenham and Southampton, his options are limited since Spurs are currently with Antonio Conte and most clubs seem to have drawn their plans for the new season.
West Ham United, Newcastle United, and Leicester City could be potential destinations if they get off to a bad start next season however the coach is said to be keen on managing the ‘top six’ teams in the English top flight.
Serie A or La Liga may be more realistic landing spots for Pochettino, while the riches on offer in Qatar could also be tempting.
