Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes Erling Haaland will need time to adjust to the demands of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
It was formally announced yesterday that City would be welcoming Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Balague told VG: “It will require time to adapt.
“Where he has had to do an important, at least his part of the job defensively in Dortmund, he will now benefit from a City team that wants to regain the ball quickly and take the opponent out of balance high on the field.
“In other words, there will be less long defensive runs and a shorter path to goals on the counterattacks.
“He will shine and flourish in those phases of the game.
“It will be less for him to do. He should enjoy it and just wait for the chances. Where he in Dortmund has been involved a lot, City tries to dominate and create an advantage in the space wide in the field. He should not get too involved there. He must be patient, make good moves, then get to the posts.”
