Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano defended his players for their 1-0 defeat to AC Milan.
Rafael Leao struck for Milan after an error from Pietro Terraciano.
“We certainly reacted well to the recent two disappointing performance and I think we played on the same level as Milan today,” Italiano told DAZN.
“We had our chances to score, above all with Cabral, but unfortunately at this level you pay a heavy price for every minor error. It was an avoidable goal, but the team put in the right performance and it wasn’t easy in this stadium against such a highly-motivated Milan.
“Our possession was good in the first half, but we didn’t have as much control of the ball after the break and consequently we created fewer scoring opportunities. Milan also deserve the credit for that.
“We have many options on the wings, but unfortunately can’t seem to score many goals from those positions. Unfortunately, we’ve shown ourselves to be a bit of a mad team, we fly between great performances and terrible ones.”
