With Ivan Persic’s contract at Inter expiring in June 2022, the club have put the talks over a potential renewal on hold.
According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan have frozen all discussions regarding the contract extensions of multiple players, with Ivan Perisic being one of them.
Inter are considered one of the favourites to win Scudetto this season. And their recent victories against Juventus and Hellas Verona have strengthened that claim.
As per the report, the Inter management is unwilling to disrupt the team’s flow by making regular contacts with the players’ agents over renewal talks. The same appears to be happening in Perisic’s case.
However, Perisic’s renewal talks require some intense negotiation. Inter are reportedly offering an annual salary of €4million for a one-year extension with an option for the following year, while Perisic is demanding a €5million-per-year salary and a guaranteed term of two years in his new contract.
Inter are also taking Perisic’s age into consideration while making the decision.
The Croat, 33, racked up two assists in Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Verona on Saturday, adding another feature to a series of incredible performances in the 2021/22 season.
