Seventh loss in 11 matches, Frank Lampard under pressure at Everton

Frank Lampard suffered yet another loss as Everton manager, following a 2-1 defeat away to West Ham on Sunday evening.

This was the seventh loss in 11 matches the former Chelsea player and manager has suffered at the helm of the Merseyside club, putting him under even more pressure.

The home side were the better of the two in the opening half and unsurprisingly took the lead just after the half-hour mark through Aaron Cresswell.

Everton managed to equliase early in the second half, but Jarrod Bowen ensured the Hammers took maximum points just before the hour-mark.

Michael Keane was shown a second yellow card in the 65th  minute, leaving the Toffees with an almost impossible task of getting a point from the London Stadium.

“Disappointed. We deserved a point, at least, based on our play.” the former England midfielder said after the match. “We showed character, discipline, and created chances. There are things that we can be positive about – not about the end result – but we have 10 games left to play.”

He becomes the first manager in Everton’s history to lose his first four away matches.

The Toffees are currently 17th in the table with 25 points but have two matches at hand over most of the teams in the relegation battle.

Up next for Lampard and company is a clash away at Turf Moor against Burnley, one of the other teams deep in the red zone.
