Rashford leaves England after altercation with Man United fans

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has left England after clashing with the club fans earlier in the week.

The Mirror reports that United players have been given days off with Rashford taking the opportunity to leave the UK in order to clear his mind after the incident.

The 24-year-old played the final 23 minutes of their clash against Atletico Madrid but failed to make an impact as the Spanish champions won 1-0 (2-1 on aggregate) to eliminate his side from the competition.

After the game, Rashford was snapped in an altercation with a section of the club fans outside Old Trafford after they questioned his performance in the match; a move that he has since clarified.

The player has had a tough season where he has just scored five goals for United in all competitions after managing a combined total of 43 club goals in his previous two campaigns.

There are suggestions that he will be dropped by manager Gareth Southgate in the next England ties against Switzerland and Ivory Coast later this month.

Manchester United are not in action until April 2, when they welcome Leicester City at Old Trafford and Rashford will hope that he would have had enough rest then as his team fight to qualify for the Champions League.
