Championship side Reading FC have appointed former Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince as their new manager on an interim basis
Ince comes in to replace Veljko Paunovic who sacked despite the Royals ending their long wait for a victory with a 3-2 win at Preston North End.
In a statement, Reading noted: “Former England captain Paul Ince, father to Royals loanee Tom Ince, has been appointed to take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis alongside Academy Manager Michael Gilkes, while we embark on the thorough search for a new permanent manager.”

It will be Ince’s first job in management since 2014 with his work set to help the club avoid relegation as they are currently sitting five points clear of Derby County.
Ince was appointed as Rovers boss in the summer of 2008, following a season with MK Dons after starting his managerial career with Macclesfield. His time at Ewood Park lasted for six months, with six wins in his 21 matches.
He takes charge of the Royals who signed son Tom from Stoke City in the January transfer window.
