🏟 Mainz vs Leverkusen
Mainz drew 1-1 away to Freiburg last time out to continue their solid season (W9, D4, L9) which sees them sit inside the Bundesliga’s top ten after 22 league matches for the first time since 2015-2016. Something has to give here though. Mainz has only conceded 24 Bundesliga goals all season, making theirs the best defence in the league, but now they’re up against an in-form and free-scoring Bayer Leverkusen outfit. Leverkusen’s last 10 league outings have seen both sides score as well as over 2.5 total goals. Their record of four wins and a draw in 2022 make them the division’s best side this calendar year so far. This should be a cracker.
👉 TIP: Over 2.5 goals
🏟 Juventus vs Torino
Derby Day in Turin. A stoppage-time equaliser at Atalanta last time out made sure Juventus remained in the last Champions League place. They’ve netted beyond the 80th minute in eight of the last nine Turin derbies on home turf so they’ll back themselves to cause a stir late on again if needed. The Bianconeri are unbeaten in 11 Serie A outings now after an indifferent start, scoring ten goals across their last four competitive home matches. In contrast, Torino is winless in three matches, and although their talisman Andrea Belotti is set to return, Juve’s record of relatively low-scoring home matches this term should continue.
👉 TIP: Juventus win & under 3.5 goals
🏟 Lille vs Metz
Defending champions Lille are languishing in mid-table but will at least look to claim consecutive wins in Ligue 1 for the first time in 2022, after beating Montpellier 1-0 last weekend. Metz has only claimed four wins all season, but 65% of their points this term have come on their travels. They’ve only lost one of their last six away from home and might be quietly confident they can snatch a point at the outgoing champions of France.
👉 TIP: Under 2.5 goals
🏟 Elche vs Rayo Vallecano
Elche’s glorious five-game unbeaten run in LaLiga came to an end after 70 minutes of resistance at Sevilla, but they can turn their attention to extending some other notable streaks when fellow mid-table club Rayo Vallecano comes to town. They have won three matches in their last five while Vallecano arrives here off the back of three straight defeats, so they’ll be confident. Vallecano does, however, boast a good record against sides currently below them in the table this season. Both sides have scored in six of the last seven H2H meetings from either the Primera or Segunda Divisións since 2014-15, so goals are very much the order of the day.
👉 TIP: Both teams to score
