Lyon have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The Frenchman – who became Spurs’ record signing when he joined from Lyon for £63m in July 2019 – will stay in France until the end of the season.
Ligue 1 outfit Lyon have paid a £1.2m loan fee and have the option to make the deal permanent in the summer for a reported £54m.
After his unveiling, Lyon vowed to get Ndombele back to his best at a club ‘he appreciates’.
The statement read: “With more than 200 matches to his credit (16 goals), Tanguy Ndombele thus compensates for the departure of Bruno Guimaraes, transferred to Newcastle, with the ambition of getting back to his best at a club he particularly appreciates and with whom he will try to achieve the objectives set out at the start of the season, both in Ligue 1 and in the Europa League.”
