Barcelona have a deal in place for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.
On-loan from Atletico Madrid, Morata is set to end his stay with Juve to return to Spain and sign for Barca.
AS says sources close to negotiations have stated the operation is already “95% closed” and is lacking only “insignificant fringes” to close the signing of the Spain international.
In fact, a total agreement has already been reached with Juventus for the transfer of the player for the next six months, as well as an agreement with Atlético Madrid to execute a future purchase option.
A key in talks with Atleti is that they still need to pay €40m to the Blaugrana for Antoine Griezmann.
Morata is waiting for his agent, Juanma López, to confirm the closure of the operation. He will then travel to Barcelona, undergo a medical examination, sign his new contract, which is likely to be for an initial 18 months, before having his presentation.
There is a confidence everything could be wrapped up in time for Morata to play in Wednesday night’s Copa del Rey tie against Linares.
