Premier League champions Manchester City have stepped closer to signing one of the best talents in England.
Grealish was initially linked with a move to Manchester United, before Aston Villa’s reported high price discouraged United. Additionally, the Red Devils signed Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for around £72.9m.
With City having lost Leroy Sane last season, and the club’s financial means, Grealish has emerged as the ideal replacement at left wing.
After a series of reports, the Citizens have now begun formal talks to sign the 25-year-old Englishman, according to Fabrizio Romano.
“Manchester City are now in direct contact with Aston Villa for Jack Grealish. Negotiations ongoing to reach an agreement – not gonna take long, decision to be made in the next days. Aston Villa have already offered Grealish a new contract. They hope to keep him,” Romano tweeted.
