A representative of Brighton & Hove Albion left-back Marc Cucurella has reportedly flown to England to negotiate a move for his client to Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly selected the Spaniard as his main left-back target this summer, with reports saying that the Citizens are ready to make a bid for him.
According to The Argus, one of Cucurella’s representatives traveled from Madrid to Manchester last week to meet with Txiki Begiristain, Manchester City’s director of football.
Brighton are expected to receive an offer from the Premier League champions, according to the source, albeit no formal proposal has yet been made.
Cucurella just joined the Seagulls last summer for about £15.4 million from Getafe, but he has already stated that a transfer to the Etihad Stadium would be tough to pass down.
The Catalan defender, who has four years left on his contract, made 38 appearances for Graham Potter’s side in all competitions during the 2021-22 season, earning him Player of the Season honors.
Man City are also interested in signing Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who is said to have told the Whites that he wants to join Guardiola’s team this summer.
