It’s the business end of another topsy-turvy Premier League season, and we wouldn’t be remotely shocked if the last couple of game weeks threw up a few more surprises.
We’ve run the rule over the midweek action spanning from today until Thursday and picked out five bold bets to place on betPawa. Here goes, and you can use our booking code 705BD68 to auto-fill your slip.
Aston Villa vs Liverpool
Villa picked up an impressive 3-1 win at Burnley with the Clarets struggling to contain their narrow 4-4-2 diamond, but Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will be far better equipped to turn them over, especially considering that they have to win to keep the title race alive. We expect Liverpool to put a wide-open Villa outfit, managed by Anfield legend Steven Gerrard, to the sword.
TIP: Liverpool win with a -1 handicap
Leeds vs Chelsea
The reverse fixture this season ended 3-2 to Chelsea at the Bridge, and we expect something similarly frenetic to go down at Elland Road on Wednesday evening. Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side hasn’t quite guaranteed a top-four place, and 13 of the last 15 goals they have conceded have been in the second half of matches.
TIP: Both teams to score in the second half
Watford vs Everton
Everton has now picked up three wins in their last five outings at the most crucial stage of the season. They now face already-relegated Watford, a team with the worst record at home in the entire division. If Everton can hand the Hornets a 15th defeat in 18 at Vicarage Road, they may just start to see the light at the end of the relegation tunnel. Watford has managed to score in four of their last five at home though, so the Toffees won’t have it all their own way.
TIP: Everton win & BTTS
Wolves vs Man City
Pep Guardiola’s men now have the initiative in the title race and they face a Wolves side that has claimed just one point from its last four matches, although that came last time out in a last-gasp comeback at Chelsea. We can’t look beyond City claiming the first-half lead and holding onto it, especially seeing as though Wolves have scored an average of just one goal per game all season. Another three points here would inch Pep’s men a step closer to defending their crown.
TIP: Man City HT/FT
Spurs vs Arsenal
There’s no love lost between fierce rivals Spurs and Arsenal, especially now as though they’re both scrapping for fourth place at the expense of the other. The Gunners can seal Champions League football for next season with a win against a team their fans truly love to hate, but a win for the hosts would mean that there’s just a point separating the sides with two games to play. The incentive for Mikel Arteta’s men is clear and they have the momentum of four consecutive wins propelling them forward, while Spurs have won just once in their last four outings.
TIP: Arsenal win
Enjoy the football!
