West Ham are trying to sign Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard today.
West Ham have made an 11th-hour approach to re-sign Lingard from United, says the Manchester Evening News.
United rebuffed an enquiry from West Ham earlier this month but the London club have contacted Lingard’s representatives again after he discussed his future with interim United manager Ralf Rangnick.
Lingard, 29, returned to United training at Carrington on Monday morning and Rangnick reiterated to Lingard he had permission to leave as he is not in his plans for the remainder of the season.
Newcastle have shortlisted Lingard as a possible deadline day loan option and the England international is prepared to join them if Newcastle can successfully renegotiate with United. United would demand a loan fee for Lingard.
