Wayne Rooney would love to manage these two clubs

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney seems like he will become one of those managers who always speak honestly in the media.

Rooney, who is now currently in charge of Derby County in the English Championship, was recently in the front pages of news after Everton called his agent for the job.

The former striker later revealed that he felt he was not ready and rejected the interest from his boyhood club. Additionally, Rooney did express confidence that he will soon or later lead a Premier League club.

The former England captain has now revealed two clubs he would love to manage in the near or distant future.

“Everton, Manchester United – two clubs close to my heart. Of course, one day I’d love to manage either of them clubs,” England’s record goalscorer said, as per EuroSport.

Rooney also took the moment to revisit his recent to turn down Everton last month.

“I didn’t go to the interview, which I was asked to go to. I’ve always been one who likes a challenge and is willing to put the work in and fight,” he added.

“I’ve stood in front of my players and told them: ‘I’m with you, trust me, I’m fighting with you’… what type of person would I be if, at the first opportunity, I left them?

“True to my word, I am fighting for the club. I am trying to get us out.”

Meanwhile, Derby are now on the way to Middlesbrough for an English Championship battle on Saturday.
