Villarreal fullback Alberto Moreno says the weekend clash with Real Mallorca is a final.
Moreno acknowledges they’ve stumbled in recent weeks and sit in eighth place on the LaLiga table.
On facing Mallorca, the defender said: “It’s a key game. It’s a final. From here to the end of the season, every match is a final if we want to be at the top. Mallorca are a tough team to face, we saw that at their stadium, where we were unable to win. We’re working on that game now, trying to find their weaknesses. We’re playing at La Cerámica in front of our fans.
“The coach told us at the start of the season that our stadium needed to be a fortress and that the opposition would need to put in the performance of their lives to get a win here. We need to be ourselves because we have top-level players.
“The opposition will always try and use their arms. They know we’re a team who have a lot of possession and they sit back to try and get something on the counter. We need to keep our heads, keep calm and try and wear the other team out, being patient for the goal to come while staying focused.”
