Victor Osimhen: “Napoli is a place to stay for a long time, it’s special”

Victor Osimhen has hinted that he could stay in Napoli for a long time in an interview with Nigerian outlet Elegebete Tv Sports (via CalcioNapoli24).

“Napoli is different, the feelings and the sensations are different from any other place. Once you play there you understand why many players have decided to stay for a long time. How fans in Napoli show their love is really incredible”.

“I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. There’s a huge murals in memory of Maradona, it’s incredible. It’s the proof that if you do great things for the fans, you’ll make them happy and they’ll give all the love and support you need”.

“I can only repay them by doing good things on the pitch and made their dreams come true. I’ll do everything I can to give them what they desire”.

Napoli are on their way to winning the first Scudetto since 1990 as they have a 19-point lead over the second place with 12 games left to play but Osimhen confessed that coach Luciano Spalletti is giving his best to keep the eyes of his players on the prize.

“I love Spalletti because he has this kind of mentality; he does not think that something is done until it’s really done. And he has passed on this message to the entire locker room.

We’re working with more intensity during the training sessions, just like we have to avoid relegation. This is the key, the secret of our team”.

Osimhen has scored 25 times in all competitions for Napoli this season and he recently grabbed a brace for the club against Torino. This also meant that he equalled Samuel Eto’o’s record for the highest number of goals in a single season by an African player in Serie A.

Because of his contributions, Napoli have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they will take on Milan.

The Nigerian has been linked with a host of clubs in Europe and while Manchester United are the most interested party, it seems as if the Partenopei would need a prominent fee to let the player leave this summer.
