Crystal Palace put in a scintillating performance to blow Everton away in a 4-0 victory to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.
The match, at Selhurst Park, saw the hosts score two goals in each half to stun Frank Lampard’s men, who started the match brightly.
Buoyed by their late victory in midweek, the visitors started the better of the two sides and had a chance to get on the scoresheet early on when Andros Townsend whipped in a free-kick, but Michael Keane dragged his shot wide.
Palace though found their way back into the match and took a surprising 25th-minute lead through Marc Guehi.
The defender rose highest to head home an Olise cross to send the Selhurst crowd into delirium.
Moments later, Wilfried Zaha failed to finish from close range after a good ball in the box, pulling his shot inches wide of the post.
Mateta made it 2-0 in the 41st minute, sweeping home an Eberichi Eze ball to cap off a good period for the hosts.
The second half was a replica of the first, as Patrick Vieira’s side sought to keep Lampard’s team away from their box.
The Eagles controlled the match well, and two late goals from Zaha and Will Hughes ensured their safe passage to the last four of the competition.
The Eagles will learn their semi-final opponent when the draw is conducted just before the last quarter-final match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.
