Sassuolo CEO confirms club striker could get offers from abroad

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has stated that clubs from abroad could make offers to sign Gianluca Scamacca.

Carnevali spoke to GR Parlamento and he gave his views about a host of issues at the Neroverdi and the futures of their most prized assets, amidst links with the likes of Inter, Juventus and Milan.

About Scamacca, the club CEO said: “The offer is more likely to come from abroad. Today in Italy there are some economic difficulties: maybe there may be the will, the desire to take on a player, but then I think the most important offers can come from abroad.

“I hope he can stay in Italy, I’d like him to stay in our league. Just look at Locatelli – in the end, both us and the player decided to accept a proposal from Juventus that is slightly lower than the one that could have sent him to England.”

Borussia Dortmund have previously made an offer for the striker but a move didn’t materialise and RB Leipzig also made an unsuccessful approach.

When asked about the club’s other talented players, he said: “I would say that, besides Frattesi and Scamacca, we also have other players like Raspadori or Traoré who are showing off [their abilities]. We don’t need to have to sell many guys, it may be that only one goes away of the two. They certainly have important evaluations, they are important players with great prospects. When they are requested, an adequate analysis will be made.”

Scamacca, as things stand, is likely to head to Inter and Frattesi has also been linked with the Nerazzurri.
