Juventus are determined to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma this summer. As a result, Jose Mourinho has once again turned his eyes toward his homeland to initiate a hunt for Zaniolo’s replacement.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Mourinho has identified Gonçalo Ramos as a suitable replacement for Nicolo Zaniolo. The former Porto manager likes the player and holds him in high esteem.
It was previously reported that Zaniolo had agreed on a four-year contract with Bianconeri. And now, Juventus need to pacify Roma’s stubbornness about the valuation of a potential deal with a reasonable offer for the former Inter man.
Roma will soon start the discussion with Juventus for the sale of the Italy international.
As far as the list of potential replacements is concerned, Ramos is considered the most suitable prospect. An attacking midfielder by trade, Ramos can also play as a second striker, meaning that he could partner with Tammy Abraham in Mourinho’s forward-line at Roma.
The report understands that there have been extensive contacts between Benfica and Roma over a potential deal for the 21-year-old this summer.
Benfica are asking for a transfer fee between €18 million and €20 million for Ramos, who remains a cheaper option than Valencia’s Gonçalo Guedes.
