Roma boss Jose Mourinho has stated that Nicolo Zaniolo will be one of the club’s players till 2024, amidst rumours linking him with a move to the Bianconeri.
Mourinho was speaking at a press conference ahead of Roma’s Serie A game against Genoa tomorrow and he spoke about the club’s transfers in the January window and the rumours surrounding Zaniolo’s future.
Mourinho stated: “I’m happy with the winter market, in case anyone asks. If I prefer the transfer market of other teams? Obviously yes, but I am happy with the our transfers, we are stronger than what we weere on December 31st.
“We lost 4 players who didn’t play much and took a couple who already scored more minutes than the ones who left. Returning to Nicolò: if my goal is to improve in every market, until my last transfer in Rome, and only God and the Friedkin know this when, the aim is to always keep your best players. In Nicolò’s case, at least until 2024 – he is one of our players “
Reports have stateed that Juve made contact with the entourage of Zaniolo in December and fresh contact was made in the last few days. Roma are yet to begin contract talks to renew the player’s deal at the Stadio Olimpico.
