Robert Lewandowski arrived six minutes late to the meeting point at Bayern Munich’s Säbener Straße this morning before training and was the last player to emerge from the changing room onto the pitch, as reported by Bild. The Bayern first team are expected to meet for training one hour before the session starts but the 33-year-old turned up at 9:06am.
After a four week vacation in Turkey, Mallorca, Ibiza and Sicily, this was Lewandowski’s first session of the season with head coach Julian Nagelsmann. Training commenced and following a warm-up and other exercises, it included a game of 11 vs 11 – a game which Lewandowski failed to score in. Bild report that Lewandowski trained with a body language that suggested he wants to leave the club.
Lucas Hernández turned away after receiving a pat on the back from Lewandowski whilst Benjamin Pavard and Dayot Upamecano didn’t feel like talking to the Poland international. Only Leon Goretzka spoke often to Lewandowski, who also exchanged a ‘fun chat’ with Jamal Musiala. During Nagelsmann’s speech, Lewandowski appeared on the outside and looked disinterested.
Because his team lost in the practise game, they were forced to do push-ups but Lewandowski opted not to. This comes after Barcelona are expected to submit a final offer to Bayern Munich for Lewandowski, who wants to leave the club with one-year remaining on his current deal.
