Robert Lewandowski’s frustrations at Bayern Munich are growing after the Bundesliga side ignored Barcelona’s latest offer, according to Sport1. The Spanish side submitted a reported offer of €40m plus bonuses for Lewandowski, a price that the 33-year-old considers to be more than fair.
Lewandowski doesn’t want to miss out on the chance of signing a three-year contract at Barça, an offer that didn’t arrive from Bayern Munich.
The Poland international has just 12 months remaining on his current deal and wants to leave the Bundesliga side. Lewandowski returned to team training on Wednesday but arrived at the meeting point at Bayern’s Säbener Straße six minutes late, and was the last player to emerge from the changing room.
Ideally, both clubs would like a resolution before they head on their US pre-season tours. But, Bayern Munich find themselves in a tricky situation.
Barcelona seem adamant that they will not submit an offer close to Bayern’s valuation of around €50m for Lewandowski and so the Bundesliga side must either sit with Barça officials to reach an agreement, or risk having an unhappy player at the club until next summer.
Bayern Munich are already preparing for the eventual departure of Lewandowski but if the Polish forward is to leave this summer, the Bundesliga champions are struggling to find a replacement on the market.
