Ricardo still in contact with Sir Alex: A winner between Man Utd and Atletico Madrid?

Ricardo Lopez says he’s still in contact with his former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The former goalkeeper played for United and Atletico Madrid, which meet this week for the second-leg of their Champions League round 16 tie.

Ricardo told Mundo Deportivo: “In these qualifiers, we saw it in Madrid, the home team has an incentive when the stadium starts shouting in unison, that gives you wings, that’s why it’s more difficult to win away, especially in the Champions League, and at Old Trafford it shows a lot, when it starts to roar it’s a wonder.

“It shows, if you don’t want the local player’s adrenaline rises and you have one more point, it seems that with those shouts and those roars you don’t get tired, you leave behind all the tiredness, and the air that doesn’t reach you, with those shouts it reaches you.

“Ugh. My heart is divided, because my children were born in Manchester, one went to Wanda the other day with the United shirt. Those games are decided in small details, in a play, in the genius of one of the players on the field… I can’t tell you, broken heart. I left many friends there, I was talking to Ferguson the other day, they are fond memories, they treated me very well, and I always wish them good things.”
