UFC star Conor McGregor insists he is serious about buying Chelsea, Manchester United or Celtic.
Roman Abramovich last week announced his plans to sell Chelsea as pressure builds on his foreign assets after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
McGregor – who has amassed huge wealth through his fighting career and sale of Proper Twelve Whiskey – took to Twitter to reaffirm his interest in buying the Blues, as well as United and Celtic.
“I do not speak in jest,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “I am exploring this, as I said.
“Celtic from Dermot Desmond, Manchester United from the Glazers, and now the recently up for sale Chelsea football club. All being explored.
“A football franchise purchase is in my future make no mistake about it.”
American and Swiss tycoons Boehly and Wyss are reportedly leading the race to buy the club.
Turkish businessman Muhsin Bayrak, said to be worth £8bn, is also looking to reach an agreement with Abramovich.
