PSG’s Neymar to resume full training in July

PSG forward Neymar (31) is expected to resume full training in July, according to a report from L’Équipe. The outlet broke the news on Monday night that the Brazil international was at the centre of advanced talks between Les Parisiens and Manchester United.

Neymar is currently sidelined after undergoing right ankle ligament surgery on March 10 at Doha’s Aspetar Hospital. The former Barcelona man suffered an ankle sprain with ligament damage against Lille on February 19, and had followed a recovery programme with a view to playing the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Bayern Munich. However, all parties involved decided it would be wiser to undergo surgery, thus ending his season.

L’Équipe has assessed that, thanks to this surgery, Neymar believes he can still play for several seasons at the highest level, both with Brazil and his club, be it PSG or another side. The outlet has given an update on the Brazilian’s rehabilitation: Neymar’s healing did not see him experience any complications and everything is going according to schedule. Paris Saint-Germain expected a four-month recovery, which remains on schedule – this means Neymar is to resume full training in mid-July.
