PSG officials are being accused of pressuring the match officials at halftime of their Champions League win against Real Madrid.
PSG won the first-leg of the round 16 tie 1-0 thanks to a late Kylian Mbappe winner.
Before being awarded a second-half penalty, where Lionel Messi failed to convert, PSG were frustrated with Daniele Orsato’s officiating, and they let him know about it.
According to Radio MARCA, both Nasser Al Khelaifi and Leonardo went down to pitch level at half time in order to speak to the referee.
“Al Khelaifi and Leonardo came down at half time to put pressure on Orsato after his refereeing in the first half,” journalist Miguel Angel Toribio told Radio MARCA’s Marcador Europeo.
“People from UEFA were there to witness it.”
The game was locked at 0-0 until the 94th minute when Mbappe produced a moment of genius to win the game for PSG, despite them having been given a second-half penalty. Messi saw his effort saved by Thibaut Courtois.
Orsato did show yellow cards to Real pair Casemiro and Ferland Mendy that will rule each out of the second leg in Madrid on March 9.
